Middlesbrough sell out Bradford City away end for Carabao Cup clash

When they go to Valley Parade, a packed away end will support Michael Carrick’s side.
Middlesbough will play Bradford City in the Carabao Cup third round later this month with over 4000 fans supporting them in a crowded away end.

Quando Mark Hughes’ League Two outfit tries to upset the odds on Tuesday, September 26, Michael Carrick’s side will go to Valley Parade. Naturalmente, entrambe le squadre hanno forti radici nella competizione; Boro vinse la League Cup in 2004 e Bradford è arrivato alla finale in 2013, ma ha perso contro Swansea City.

Middlesbrough reached the third-round stage with wins over Huddersfield Town and Bolton Wanderers and are now in the final 32. All Premier League sides in European competition joined the draw at the third-round stage, so a trip to Bradford could be seen a positive result for Boro.

Speaking about their decision to offer tickets at just £5, Bradford chief executive Ryan Sparks said: “We are delighted to be able to offer heavily discounted tickets for what is a massive cup clash against Championship opposition. We pride ourselves on accessibility, and hope this deal will enable as many Bradfordians as possible to turn out for what should be a great occasion.

“Our football club will always have a special connection with the League Cup and, of course, this is the first time we have appeared in its third round for almost a decade. To celebrate, in what are challenging economic times, ourselves and Middlesbrough have agreed to make this fixture as affordable as possible for home and away supporters.

“We have had some incredible cup crowds at Valley Parade over the years, and it would be fantastic to see another packed-out attendance of over 20,000, while hopefully booking our place in round four for the first time since that memorable 2012/13 season.”
