Manchester City

Phil Foden, September 23, 2023, on how Forest made the champions dig in: “The first half was brilliant, apart from the last 10 when they found us out a little bit. Then the second half was not what we expected because Rodri got a red card quite early and we showed a different side to ourselves, we had to dig in and I am proud of the team.”

Pep Guardiola, September 23, 2023, writing in the club’s match programme on the job Cooper has done:“Steve Cooper has done a fantastic job with Forest. To get them out of the Championship from the position they were in when he got the job, and then keeping them in the Premier League last season… it’s a record that speaks for itself. The Championship is so demanding, and we all know this league is the hardest in the world. He deserves so much credit for his work there.”

Burnley

Sander Berge, September 18, 2023, on playing Forest at the City Ground: “The lads showed great character tonight, it’s not an easy place to come but we wanted to show what we’re about but we stood up well and were chasing the winner in the end.
