Good News: Just In Top Talented Georgia 5-Star Commits To Vols Football

Josh Heupel and Tennessee football have been busy recruiting. With the addition of their most recent commit, four-star offensive tackle Douglas Utu from Las Vegas, Nevada, the Vols entered the top 15 in the recruiting rankings for the 2025 class.

Utu was the seventh four-star prospect in the 2025 recruiting class and the sixteenth player to pledge to Tennessee. College football often slows down during the summer, but the Vols have been playing fantastically, so this momentum might continue.

Chad Simmons of On3 Recruiting has expertly predicted that Georgia’s four-star linebacker Jadon Perlotte will transfer to Tennessee, an SEC foe.

Since December 8, 2022, the 6-foot-4, 215-pound linebacker has committed to Georgia; but, there is a lot of momentum coming from the Vols and other teams that might lead to a possible flip.
Following Perlotte’s post of an orange and white photo of herself clutching the BCS National Championship Coaches’ Trophy, this prediction was made. He included three smiling face emojis in his short caption.

Perlotte is ranked No. 22 in Georgia, No. 16 as a linebacker, and No. 160 overall in the nation by On3.

On3 Sports has also provided Perlotte with an expert prediction that she will switch to Florida State. Last year, On3 anticipated that Perlotte would switch to the Seminoles, but Perlotte ultimately chose to remain with the Bulldogs.

Perlotte’s recruitment process did not involve the Vols until June, when he paid a campus visit on June 14. After touring both campuses last month, he is anticipated to switch to Tennessee. He visited Athens after his visit to Rocky Top.

In the event that Perlotte decides to transfer to the Vols, William Inge, the first-year linebackers coach who came to Tennessee from Alabama, will have his first commit. Receiving the commitment from a guy ranked among the nation’s top 200 players and a consensus top-15 linebacker is the best approach for him to begin his recruiting efforts.
