Leicester City manager Willie Kirk has added both Janina Leitzig and Lize Kop to his squad over the summer, leaving long-serving keeper Lambourne as third choice. With the keeper unlikely to get many minutes for The Foxes this season, she has been allowed to join Barclays Women’s Championship club Crystal Palace on loan. She links-up with a Crystal Palace side that have taken eight points from their opening four league matches this season.

After joining The Eagles, Lambourne told the club’s official media team “I’m excited to be here at Palace, and by the direction of the club and where they want to go.

“With Palace’s vision and views, I just wanted to be a part of that. Now, I want to hit the ground running.”

Lambourne will battle with Fran Kitching and Natalia Negri for the goalkeeping jersey at Crystal Palace this season. She could be involved for The Eagles for the first time when they travel to Ewood Park to face Blackburn Rovers on Sunday 8 October 2023.
