He’s A Crazy One – Leicester City Player Catches Eye Of Former Foxes Man

David Nugent has indicated that he never expected Leicester City midfielder Wilfred Ndidi to adapt to his new role in the team seamlessly this season.

A defensive midfielder by trade, Ndidi has been used differently in the team by Leicester boss Enzo Maresca this season.

He is being used as the more box-to-box midfielder by the Leicester manager and Ndidi has stood up to the challenge and relishing his new role in the Foxes team in the ongoing campaign.

He has scored one goal and assisted on another, and Nugent admitted that he has rarely seen a player adapt to a new position and function as smoothly as Ndidi.

The former Leicester City player stated that he never imagined the player performing the present role of racing into the penalty area and creating chances for others.

“Wilfred is a crazy one,” Nugent said on the BBC’s When You’re Smiling podcast.

“I’ve never seen a player switch from one position to another so quickly.”

“We have known him as a number 6 but he is now a number 9, running into the box, doing stepovers and creating chances for players.”

Ndidi has started seven of Leicester’s nine Championship games this season and has been instrumental in their strong start.
