Done deal : Brighton & Hove Albion confirm new deal as player sign new long term deal

Huge Kaoru Mitoma transfer update given as Brighton man ‘agrees new contract’
Brighton & Hove Albion winger Kaoru Mitoma has been in excellent form since breaking into Roberto De Zerbi’s team and has three goals and three assists this season.Brighton’s CEO Paul Barber previously spoke to The Beautiful Game podcast about rumoured interest in Mitoma from other clubs earlier this year, saying: “Obviously he’s another player that will be in the spotlight in the next transfer window.

“We’re ready for that and we understand that, we just hope he can have a great second half of the season. We’re very fortunate from a financial point of view that we’re not a club that has to sell players to survive.”

Brighton winger Kaoru Mitoma has reportedly agreed a new long-term contract on the south coast.

The Japan international has been in excellent form for the Seagulls this season with three goals and three assists in his first nine games, adding to the ten strikes he managed during the 2022/23 campaign.

Now, according to LondonWorld, the 26-year-old has put pen to paper on a five-year deal at the Amex Stadium with wages worth around £80,000-a-week.

The report adds that Brighton will announce the new deal within the next 24 hours ahead of their second Europa League group stage match against Marseille on Thursday night.

Mitoma’s previous deal at Brighton expired in 2025, with Roberto De Zerbi keen to tie down the winger to a new deal amid significant transfer interest.

Premier League clubs Liverpool and Manchester City have both been credited with having an interest in Mitoma, who joined Brighton from J-League side Kawasaki Frontale in the summer of 2021 before spending time on loan at Union SG in Belgium.
