Former AC Milan defender Filippo Galli believes Fikayp Tomori should focus on his own game rather than trying to copy other defenders.
Galli was asked about Milan’s English defender, who has been doing well this season, during an interview with Tuttosport (via Milan News).
Tomori’s 2022/23 season was not his finest, but he appears to have recaptured his best form since the current season began.
Tomori, as Galli explains, has established himself as one of the team’s most essential players.
“Tomori is expanding. On the field, he has developed the awareness that has made him a key player for Milan and his coach. This confidence has and continues to help him improve match after match,” Galli said.
Galli was then asked to compare Tomori to other defenders, both past and present, but he said Tomori should only focus on improving his own game as a player.
“It has to be Tomori.” “And there’s nothing for anyone when Fikayo plays the real Tomori on the pitch,” he explained.
Tomori appears to be an unstoppable force for Stefano Pioli at the moment, and Malick Thiaw is his preferred partner, with Pierre Kalulu and Simon Kjaer also suffering for fitness.
