Harry Winks now gives major admission on leicester city boss Enzo Maresca

Harry Winks has rapidly emerged as a pivotal figure for Leicester City following his transfer from Tottenham during the summer. Leicester City midfielder Harry Winks has lauded the coaching provided by manager Enzo Maresca, stating that it surpasses anything he has encountered in his career.

Maresca has enjoyed a remarkable start as City’s manager, winning 10 out of his initial 11 league matches in charge, positioning City at the pinnacle of the Championship table, 10 points clear of Preston in third place. Maresca is also introducing an entirely new style of play, with Winks occupying a central role in midfield. He was Maresca’s inaugural signing as City’s manager, acquired from Tottenham for approximately £10 million.

The acquisition of Winks could be considered a significant coup for City, as the 27-year-old has represented England and featured in the Champions League final for Tottenham. His performances in a City jersey this season have showcased his value, and Winks attributes his improved form to Maresca.

In his words, “The manager hasn’t really altered my style of play; he’s simply brought out more of my strengths. Instead of scrutinizing players’ weaknesses and areas for improvement, he focuses on their strengths to help them become the best possible contributors to the team.”

Winks also emphasizes an often-overlooked aspect of Maresca’s coaching: his emphasis on enjoying football and playing with a smile. This emphasis on enjoyment is crucial, as it can significantly impact a player’s performance.

Before joining City, Winks spent his entire career with Tottenham, aside from a loan spell with Sampdoria the previous season. He has worked with respected managers such as Jose Mourinho, Mauricio Pochettino, and Antonio Conte, but he regards City’s manager as being on an entirely different level.

Winks expressed, “I’ve had the privilege of working with some influential managers in the game, and this manager is probably one of the best in terms of ideas, tactics, and overall management. I’ve learned so much, and in terms of my footballing abilities, I feel like I’ve made significant improvements in just a few months of being here.”

He further elaborated on Maresca’s approach to the game, stating, “The way he makes you perceive the game, the scenarios he presents, and the manner in which he essentially predicts how the game will unfold, along with the solutions to navigate it, represent an entirely different level of coaching that I haven’t previously encountered. I’m thoroughly enjoying the experience.”
