‘Training exceptionally well’: O’Neil impressed by 22-year-old ahead of Bournemouth clash

Gary O’Neil has confessed that Boubacar Traore is training ‘exceptionally well’ right now.

The Wanderers’ manager is looking forward to this weekend’s Premier League match against Bournemouth.

Wolves have collected five points in their previous three games, including three against Manchester City.

There is more optimism at Molineux now than there was after the first few weeks of the new season.

The players appear to be responding positively to O’Neil, and the team hopes to resume action after the international break.

O’Neil will be absolutely desperate to win on Saturday.

Of course, despite keeping the Cherries in the Premier League last season, he was fired by the club in June.

He’ll be eager to return to the Vitality Stadium and oversee a victory.

He’ll have to do it without midfielder Mario Lemina, who was sent off against Aston Villa.

But it appears that he has a player ready to come in the form of Boubacar Traore.

He told the Express and the Star: “Bouba (Boubacar Traore) has been training exceptionally well and it’s exciting the way he can get around the pitch, and Tommy (Doyle) has come in and added something.”

Traore will surely start against Bournemouth

At this time, it is evident that O’Neil is enthusiastic about Traore.

As journalist Liam Keen pointed out on a recent Express & Star podcast episode, the head coach has mentioned Traore a few times in interviews without being directly questioned about him.

He has now stated that the player has trained ‘exceptionally well,’ and he is clearly pleased with him.

It would therefore be no surprise to see him in that starting XI on Saturday.

Lemina cannot play, and the 22-year-old definitely deserves a chance to shine in his place.
