Jamaal Lascelles was so excited after what fantastic Newcastle player did recently

During Newcastle United’s triumph in the Champions League against Paris Saint-Germain, there were numerous memorable moments, but one, in particular, left a strong impression on Jamaal Lascelles. While the fans celebrated the goals by Dan Burn and Sean Longstaff, who had grown up supporting the club, Lascelles found even more joy in the goal scored by another teammate. Fabian Schar was the one responsible for Newcastle United’s fourth goal of the match, and it unquestionably stood out as the Magpies’ finest moment. Schar’s remarkable long-range strike during injury time curled beautifully past Gianluigi Donnarumma, puttingthe finishing touch on a historic victory for Newcastle, with Eddie Howe’s team prevailing 4-1.

Schar’s goal was a true belter, showcasing a talent he had possessed ever since his transfer to St. James’ Park for £3 million. While we had witnessed incredible goals against teams like Burnley, Nottingham Forest, and Cardiff City in previous years, this particular one occurred in the grand stage of the Champions League against Paris Saint-Germain. The significance of scoring such a goal on this remarkable platform was not lost on Lascelles, who enthusiastically explained why he was so thrilled for his partner in the center of the defense.

Jamaal Lascelles absolutely ‘buzzing’ for Fabian Schar

Lascelles recently spoke with Newcastle United’s official website regarding the Magpies’ fourth goal against PSG. He expressed his happiness at Fabian Schar scoring it, mentioning that while anyone could have scored the goal, he was particularly delighted for Schar. Lascelles emphasized the strong bond he shares with Schar, describing how they have been partners on the field for a significant period, playing alongside various teammates over the years. He conveyed his excitement for both Schar and the entire team.

Newcastle need Schar and Lascelles to deliver again on Wednesday

With Sven Botman still out injured, Newcastle will almost certainly start Lascelles and Schar at center-back against Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League on Wednesday.

While Lascelles was pleased to see Schar score in the last European match, it was their defensive efforts that made the most of the difference.

They were fantastic against PSG and will have to be just as strong against Dortmund. While they do not have Kylian Mbappe, they do have a plethora of attacking stars that can cause serious difficulties for Newcastle.

Another wondergoal from Schar would be fantastic, but we’ll take another defensive masterclass from him and the captain.
