Southampton FC now interested in signing young talent

Ally Graham will receive an offer from Southampton for another trial spell.

When the goalie was just 14 years old, he trained with the Saints during his prior trial period in April of last year.

Presently, the teenager is a member of Dundee’s youth program, where he has established himself as a promising young player.

Having previously played for the team this year, he has been called up to the Scotland U16 squad ahead of the November international break, where they will play against the Republic of Ireland, Wales, and Northern Ireland.

He is anticipated to return to St. Mary’s for a second trial match with the Championship team, though, before the break.

Who is Ally Graham?

The young player is a rising star who is already attracting transfer interest and recognition on a global scale.

The shot stopper hasn’t broken through to senior football because he is only 15 years old.

On his present trajectory, though, it won’t be long until he makes his senior debut as expectations for a successful career are growing.

Although he is still in the Dundee youth academy, there is already a lot of interest from transfer agencies in him.

Earlier in the year, Graham was also connected to a trial with Premier League team Aston Villa, as Unai Emery’s team looked more closely at the goalie.

The young player from Dundee may face fierce competition if the Saints try to sign him permanently because it is thought that several other English clubs are keeping an eye on his development.

Even with this much interest in his services, signing the goalie would be a move for the future, as the 15-year-old is probably still a few years away from making it into a senior first team squad.

How have Southampton started this season?

When Southampton first brought Graham in for a trial earlier this year, they were in the Premier League; however, the Saints have since fallen to the Championship.

Russell Martin’s side are aiming to compete for promotion straight back to the top flight this campaign.

With their 2-1 victory over Hull City over the weekend, the Saints are presently ranked ninth in the standings.

This evening, the South Coast club will play their first game back, traveling to Preston North End, now ranked fourth.

If other outcomes go Martin’s way, they might move up to third in the standings with the win.

Would Ally Graham be an exciting signing for Southampton?

For a team the caliber of Southampton, it is far too early to tell if he will be the starting goal in the future, and placing that kind of pressure on him could stunt his growth.

However, the fact that his performances have already garnered this kind of notice at this early point in his career is undoubtedly intriguing for the young actor.

Given the importance of goalkeepers in today’s games, it makes sense for teams to be looking for the best and brightest young players.

Graham has a great chance to benefit from this trial because, at this point in his life, let alone his job, moving to England would be a major step.
