Breaking News: Auburn Tigers Confirm The signing of another top super star

Keionte Scott, a significant contributor to Auburn’s secondary, has declared his decision to stay with the team for the 2024 season rather than entering the 2024 NFL Draft. The announcement came on Monday morning, solidifying Scott’s commitment to the Tigers.

Currently in his second season with Auburn, Scott has showcased his defensive prowess with 41 tackles, four pass breakups, and two tackles for loss across nine games. Notably, his impact extends beyond defense, as he has been a dynamic force in punt returns. In the 2023 season, Scott recorded 12 punt returns for 188 yards and secured one touchdown. His outstanding performance, particularly a 74-yard punt return for a touchdown against Arkansas, earned him recognition as the SEC Special Teams Player of the Week.

In his debut season with Auburn in 2022, Scott delivered an impressive performance with a total of 53 tackles, four tackles for loss, and three pass breakups.

The decision for Keionte Scott to return to Auburn is strategically significant for the team, considering the impending departures of key defensive backs like D.J. James, Nehemiah Pritchett, and Jaylin Simpson to the NFL. Additionally, safety Marquise Gilbert recently entered the transfer portal, emphasizing the importance of retaining experienced players like Scott in the defensive lineup. His decision to remain with the Tigers bolsters their defensive capabilities and provides stability in the secondary, contributing to Auburn’s prospects in the upcoming season.
