Texas Rangers broadcaster C.J. Nitkowski announces his departure from the team. Here's why

The decision to bring in Nitkowski allows Jeff Francoeur, who has been juggling his broadcasting responsibilities with family commitments, to spend more quality time at home. Francoeur, a beloved figure in Braves history, will still contribute to the broadcast team, alongside Hall of Famer Tom Glavine, for approximately 20 games each.

Expressing his enthusiasm for the opportunity, Nitkowski stated in a released statement, “My family and I are beyond thrilled to come home and receive this amazing opportunity. I am honored that Bally Sports and the Braves have selected me to join their group and continue their tradition of excellence in television broadcasting.”

Nitkowski, having a decade-long career as a pitcher in the MLB, transitioned to broadcasting and has been Texas’ television analyst since 2017. In addition to his role with the Braves, Nitkowski has been actively involved with SiriusXM’s MLB Network Radio.

As for Francoeur, who is 39 years old and a father of four, he will continue his postseason broadcast duties with TBS. He will also make occasional appearances in the Braves’ TV booth, ensuring that his presence is still felt within the broadcasting team.

Overall, this move reflects the Braves’ commitment to balancing the demands of their broadcast schedule with the well-being of their team members, allowing for a more harmonious work-life balance for Jeff Francoeur while bringing in a seasoned analyst in C.J. Nitkowski to enhance the broadcast team’s depth and expertise.
