Good News: Michigan Football Confirm To Land Another Top Star

Regarding what the Michigan Wolverines will do at quarterback in the future, rumors are still circulating. One of the top quarterback prospects available in the 2024 NFL draft is J.J. McCarthy. As a result, the role will remain uncertain until 2024.

The nation’s top quarterback prospect for 2025, Bryce Underwood, is up for grabs, and Michigan is in the running. Although it won’t happen right away, waiting for the top player can be worthwhile. Michigan is ranked second in On3.com’s odds to win Underwood.

The good news for head coach Jim Harbaugh is that LSU is seen by On3’s prediction computer as a significant favorite at 91.7%. This presents a dilemma, though. With these odds, Michigan’s chances of landing Underwood are only 3.6%.Even if Alabama is making a push to catch up, the Wolverines lost out on a fantastic recruitment opportunity in Underwood.

Libby stated in an article titled “Five things we learned about Michigan recruiting in December” that “Five-star Belleville (Mich.) High quarterback Bryce Underwood returned to Alabama the weekend before the December dead period, which falls during his planned commitment date this Saturday.” The article was published on January 1, 2024.

“Underwood showed up on campus to watch Michigan defeat Ohio State. He hadn’t visited the facilities until late July for The Big House’s yearly barbecue. If Underwood and his family had made one final visit to Ann Arbor, U-M might have gained momentum, but LSU has remained the clear favorite, Libby added. Kirk Campbell, the quarterbacks coach, had a great chance to see Rose Bowl practice with Jim Harbaugh and have one last meeting with him the weekend he traveled to Tuscaloosa. With six days remaining before Underwood makes a commitment, the team is instead on the outside looking in.
