Promising TE Says He Wants To Play For The Titans
With new head coach Brian Callahan, the Tennessee Titans have at least a glimmer of hope that they may improve this fall after a disappointing 6-11 season that saw them miss the playoffs.
They will draft with the seventh overall choice in the NFL Draft, which is the only positive outcome of their terrible season. Although they probably won’t be able to select one of the top quarterback prospects, they should be able to select a standout player at another position.
According to @JakeAndBall on Twitter, tight end Brock Bowers of the University of Georgia is one player that might be available. He stated that if it were up to him, he would want Tennessee to draft him.
Although Bowers is originally from Napa, California, which is part of the San Francisco Bay Area, he chose to play collegiate ball in the South.
In his first two seasons at Georgia, he helped the Bulldogs win back-to-back College Football Playoff National Championships. He was named an All-American and won the John Mackey Award as the best tight end in the NCAA.
He totaled 2,538 receiving yards and 26 touchdowns in just three seasons. He also scored five touchdowns on the ground.
The main concern for the Titans is star running back Derrick Henry’s impending free agency; although he still plays excellent football, his output has declined since his incredible 2020 season, in which he rushed for 2,027 yards.
Maybe Bowers may contribute in some way to replace Henry’s firepower, if he decides to leave for his new team.
