Breaking News: Miami Heat Confirm To Loose Another Star To A Serious Injury

Against the Jazz, Heat standout Bam Adebayo appears to have injured his leg.
The Heat supporters were seriously alarmed by Bam Adebayo.

Bam Adebayo, the big man for the Miami Heat, had to leave Saturday’s game against the Utah Jazz due to a leg injury that appeared problematic in the second half. Bam Adebayo
Adebayo unintentionally ran into Jazz player Taylor Hendricks early in the third quarter as the latter was trying to take the ball from the Heat center after he lost possession of it. Adebayo was obviously hurt as he hobbled to the sidelines even though he was able to get up on his own after the collision and tumble.

After that, Adebayo went to the changing area.

Bam Adebayo was able to go back to the bench and rejoin the game a few minutes later, which was fortunate for the Heat. If the All-Star center had sustained a significant injury, it would have been disastrous, particularly given Miami’s efforts to move up the standings and try to avoid the Play-In tournament.

Adebayo was averaging 20.3 points, 10.5 rebounds, 4.1 assists, 1.1 steals, and 1.0 blocks per game going into Saturday’s matchup, all while shooting 51.4 percent from the field. Without a question, he is an important component of the Miami attack, and replacing his output would have been extremely difficult.

Hopefully, Adebayo’s injury won’t cause him any trouble going forward or persist beyond the game. His ability to return is indeed encouraging, but he may need to exercise caution so as not to exacerbate the situation.

Following the Jazz game, the Heat’s schedule is somewhat demanding: two of their next four games are against the Oklahoma City Thunder and Dallas Mavericks. Adebayo’s health is undoubtedly something to monitor.
