Latest Auburn News: Just In Another Top Talented Auburn Tiger Star Confirm To Enter Transfer Portal

Tre Donaldson, a point guard for Auburn, will use the transfer portal.
Tre Donaldson, an Auburn point guard who recently concluded his sophomore campaign with the Tigers, revealed his intention to use the transfer portal in an Instagram post on Wednesday morning.

Following a sophomore campaign in which he shared starting point guard responsibilities with true freshman point guard Aden Holloway, Donaldson made the decision to use the transfer portal. During the previous season, Donaldson started 10 of Auburn’s 35 games.

Donaldson saw a spike in his output from his rookie to sophomore seasons, finishing with a season average of 6.7 points, 2.4 rebounds, and 3.2 assists per game. Additionally, Donaldson had a 41.2% 3-point shooting percentage at the end of the year.

It looked like Donaldson would be sharing a point guard room with Holloway still playing and Auburn signing 5-star prospect Tahaad Pettiford.

Former Tallahassee, Florida, two-sport standout Donaldson committed to Auburn in August 2021 as a 3-star athlete with the intention of playing basketball and football for the Tigers, but he ultimately chose to concentrate on the latter sport.

Donaldson is the second player from Auburn to access the transfer site; on March 26, veteran guard KD Johnson declared he will follow suit.
