Breaking News: Ravens Confirm In Talk To Sign Top Experienced SEC WR

Ladd McConkey, a receiver out of Georgia, may be chosen by the Baltimore Ravens in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft.
With the NFL Draft starting in two days, the Baltimore Ravens are keeping an eye on many possibilities for the No. 30 overall choice.

Ladd McConkey, a receiver from Georgia who has shot up the draft boards recently, is one of those players and might provide Lamar Jackson with additional ammunition in the Ravens offense.

“McConkey is a sick route runner with the excellent speed (4.39 in the 40) to turn on the jets in the open field,” Field Yates of ESPN writes. “He constantly puts defensive backs on their heels and is available at all times. This last season, McConkey’s meager output (30 catches in nine games) is more indicative of a Georgia system that excelled at running the ball and had receiver Brock Bowers snagging passes.”

Despite having only 30 receptions for 478 yards and two touchdowns in his final season at Georgia, McConkey’s relationship with Todd Monken, the offensive coordinator for the Ravens, may prove to be very beneficial. Prior to moving to Baltimore during the previous offseason, Monken oversaw offensive strategy for McConkey during his first three seasons at Georgia.

If McConkey’s undergraduate history has anything to show for it, Monken can bring out the best in him, as evidenced by his best offensive season in 2022, when he caught 58 passes for 762 yards and seven touchdowns.

For the two-time National Champion, maybe a reunion in the professional ranks is the best option.
