Latest Raiders News: Raiders Named as Landing Spot for Former Dolphins Pro Bowl QB

Now that the NFL draft has concluded, several notable free agents remain available, and their prospects for finding new teams are becoming clearer. Among these free agents is former Miami Dolphins quarterback Ryan Tannehill, who is considered one of the top options. Jack Murray of Bleacher Report recently analyzed potential landing spots for Tannehill, identifying the Las Vegas Raiders as a particularly attractive option.

Murray highlighted the Raiders’ current quarterback situation, which includes Gardner Minshew, Aidan O’Connell, and Anthony Brown on the depth chart. Despite having recently acquired Minshew and O’Connell gaining experience in 2023, Murray suggested that the Raiders might still be looking to bolster their quarterback options, making Tannehill a compelling addition.

Although many anticipated the Raiders selecting a quarterback in the draft, they ultimately didn’t, leaving Minshew and O’Connell to vie for the starting role. Raiders general manager Tom Telesco acknowledged the lack of quarterback selection, indicating that while they were open to upgrading the position, the opportunity didn’t align with their draft strategy.

Considering Tannehill’s experience as a former starter for both the Dolphins and the Tennessee Titans, he could bring valuable veteran leadership to the Raiders. Despite recent injury setbacks affecting his performance, Tannehill’s track record includes impressive career statistics, making him a potentially impactful addition to the Raiders’ roster, which boasts talent on both offense and defense.
