Good News: Just In 4-Star Big Man Commit To Tennessee Volunteers

Igor Milicic, a forward from Charlotte, commits to Tennessee
A significant gain!

This time, Tennessee made a big impression on the transfer portal by acquiring Charlotte forward Igor Milicic. Since Cade Tyson committed to North Carolina on Sunday, the Volunteers have been the clear favorite here for the past week or two. This morning, they officially land Milicic.

Nebraska and Baylor were also considered for Milicic.

The 6-10, 225-pound forward has the ability to run the floor and go to the hoop, playing more like a wing. During the previous season, he scored 12.8 points a game for the 49ers while shooting 37.6 percent from three-point range. Milicic also grabbed 8.5 rebounds per game with his 6-10 frame.

Prior to moving to Charlotte, Milicic began his career at Virginia. Below is my interview with resident basketball expert Nick Carner.

“I believe he will play a few four, but his true position is wing shooting. So, in order to make it work, Rick needs to modify the offensive strategy. He’s a decent rebounder for his size, but especially in the SEC, it’s not always his strongest suit.

“I believe he and Dubar will play the 3/4 together, which offers us a lot of intriguing lineup choices. a great deal of length.

It appears that Milicic will play a hybrid-4 role given that Tobe Awaka committed to Arizona today. Similar athletes, he and Darlinstone Dubar both bring a ton of length and shooting to the court. Felix Okpara, a transfer from Ohio State, looks to be the latest addition to Tennessee’s starting lineup, which consists of Zeigler, Mashack, Dubar, Milicic, and Okpara. Cade Phillips, JP Estrella, Cameron Carr, and Jordan Gainey will probably be in the rotation.

Three positions on the Tennessee roster are still available. Another player to keep an eye on is North Florida transfer Chaz Lanier, who averaged over 19 points per game the previous campaign.
