Latest Alabama Football News: Just In Alabama Loses Another Top Talented Player To The Transfer Portal

Another Player Leaves Alabama Through The Transfer Portal
How many more losses are acceptable for the Crimson Tide?

There have been a lot of previous top football recruits departing Tuscaloosa since Kalen DeBoer took over for the Alabama Crimson Tide.

Fans of rival Auburn are undoubtedly not disappointed, and it’s also an interesting development. When will Deboer and his coaching staff lose too many talented players, at least temporarily, to be regarded as a top football program?

The most recent member of the Alabama football team to access the Transfer Portal is the well-liked defensive back Tony Mitchell. Thompson, a native of Alabaster, Alabama, was ranked #192 in the US by 247 Sports as a high school. Almost every SEC school and others had made him offers. He represents only a small portion of what has transpired since the departure from Tuscaloosa and the retirement of Nick Saban.

The losses of wide receiver Isaiah Bond, cornerback Dezz Ricks, safety Caleb Downs, and quarterback Julian Sayin (a 2024 prospect) all looming large for the Crimson Tide.

According to the same order as before, those are the #1, #3, #7, and #28 players according to the On3 Transfer Portal rankings. It’s difficult to go past that now or in the future. Alabama looks to be falling back to the rear, while Auburn undoubtedly has its own problems on the roster that need to be resolved, at least for the time being.

As Alabama and Auburn try to entice talent from the Transfer Portal, the upcoming months will be crucial. It’s not unthinkable that Auburn narrows the skill gap any further, particularly in light of the recent impressive Transfer Portal victories that Hugh Freeze and his team secured.

Is Alabama’s football team still among the best? Although the Crimson Tide’s roster isn’t quite as good as it was under Nick Saban, the team should still be regarded as one of the top ten.
