The Auburn football team gets an offensive tackle from Akron and another commit to the 2025 recruiting class in today’s Auburn Tigers News.

Ronan Chambers, an offensive tackle for Akron, said on social media earlier this week that he was committed to the Auburn football team. He committed to Tulane for the first month after using the transfer portal in January. However, on Monday, after spending the weekend on the Plains for an official visit, he switched to the Tigers.

Prior to joining the Zips in January, Chambers, a two-star prospect in the 2020 class, played four seasons at Akron after signing a contract with them out of high school. With one year remaining on his eligibility, Chambers—the fifth transfer selected this spring by head coach Hugh Freeze and colleagues—is anticipated to fill the role of a rotational lineman, just like he did at Akron, according to Auburn Live.

Auburn adds LB commit from 2025
Four-star linebacker Tyler Lockhart chose Auburn football over Alabama, Mississippi State, Georgia, LSU, and other schools on Monday night, following Chambers’ announcement. Lockhart had several projections to attend Mississippi State prior to his commitment, ranking as the #18 linebacker in the recruiting class of 2025 and the #6 player out of the state of Mississippi.

Lockhart, a native of Winona, Mississippi, accepted an offer from the Tigers in February and made an unofficial visit in March. On June 14, he will pay the Plains an official visit. The LB had a fantastic junior season, according to Auburn Rivals, racking up 100 tackles, 28 tackles for loss, and 11 sacks.

With Lockhart joining the class, Auburn football’s recruiting class of 2025 now has ten pledges, placing #4 in the SEC behind LSU, Oklahoma, and Alabama, and #10 overall.
