A former Auburn football linebacker declares his transfer destination and a Georgia linebacker commit schedules an official visit with the Tigers in today’s Auburn Tigers News.

The Washington State football team hired former Tigers linebacker Wesley Steiner on Friday, after the news that former Auburn football cornerback JD Rhym is anticipated to transfer to Houston.

Steiner spent four seasons on the Plains after being a four-star recruit in the 2020 recruiting class out of high school. It was expected that Steiner would visit the portal given his reduced playing time from the previous season and the return of the Tigers’ primary linebackers in 2024.

Steiner made 86 total tackles during his four years at Auburn, including two stops for loss. He will still be eligible to attend Washington State for one more year.

Official visit between Georgia linebacker commit and the Tigers scheduled
4-star linebacker Jadon Perlotte, who is presently committed to the Georgia Bulldogs, has scheduled an official visit to the Auburn football team, according to On3 Sports.

After graduating from Buford High School, Perlotte committed to Georgia in December 2022, but he hasn’t closed his recruitment yet and is still considering all of his alternatives before making a choice. He went to the Plains for the Ole Miss game the previous season and has since come back, keeping up his good friendship with Hugh Freeze, the head coach of Auburn football.

The LB will make five formal trips this summer, the most recent of which is scheduled for June 12. Alabama is where he will make his first stop on May 31. He will next go to Miami on June 7, Tennessee on June 14, and Georgia on June 21. Flipping Perlotte from in-state Georgia won’t be simple, but he has been vocal about his passion for the Tigers and has made many excursions to the Plains.
