Breaking: Alabama Crimson Tide Confirm The Departure Of Another Top Talented QB Star

**Former Alabama QB Tyler Buchner Rejoins Notre Dame Football Team as Walk-On**

Tyler Buchner, previously a quarterback for Alabama, is returning to Notre Dame as a walk-on player after spending one season with the Crimson Tide and playing lacrosse. Buchner announced his decision on Friday in a Notre Dame press release.

“Notre Dame has always been a place of faith and redemption, but I never imagined the extent of its generosity until the day Coach (Marcus) Freeman allowed me to rejoin the football team as a walk-on,” Buchner shared in a letter to Irish fans.

Buchner initially played for Notre Dame before transferring to Alabama ahead of the 2023 season. Competing with Jalen Milroe and Ty Simpson for the starting quarterback role, he struggled during his start in Alabama’s third game against South Florida and was subsequently benched. Reflecting on this period, Buchner described feeling devastated and losing his passion for football, which led him to seek new goals in Tuscaloosa.

Finding a new role on Alabama’s scout team, starting the week of their victory over LSU, provided Buchner with a sense of peace. Ahead of Alabama’s Rose Bowl appearance, he expressed his satisfaction in contributing off the field and supporting his teammates.

Before the Rose Bowl, Buchner announced his plan to transfer back to Notre Dame. He joined the Irish lacrosse team as a walk-on and contributed to their recent national championship win.

Now returning to Notre Dame football, Buchner will walk on as a wide receiver, according to multiple reports. He emphasized his determination to push his limits and be part of a supportive family at Notre Dame.

“The journey back to Notre Dame has been one of reflection and redemption. It has taught me that home is not just a place, but a feeling of belonging, of being part of a family that stands by you, no matter where the road leads,” Buchner concluded in the release.
