Breaking News: Texas Longhorns Confirm another Commitment From Highly Experienced Star

Thomas Burns, a former right-handed pitcher for the Arizona State Sun Devils, committed to the NCAA through the transfer portal on Monday, further solidifying the 2025 Texas Longhorns team.
In the 2023 recruiting class, Burns, a native of Hortonville, Wisconsin, was ranked by Perfect Game as the No. 500 overall talent and among the top-10 players in the state. Burns entered the Sun Devils rotation as the No. 1 starter and promptly went five shutout innings while giving up just one hit and one run. Burns struggled against Washington State in his final start, giving up five runs on seven hits in 4.2 innings.

Burns’ bicep injury terminated his freshman season. In six games, all starts, he had a 1-1 record with a 4.75 ERA, striking out 39 hitters in 30.1 innings while opponents hit.213 against the 6’3, 210-pound prospect who still had three seasons left to be eligible.

For Schlossnagle and his staff the following season, Burns projected as a possible weekend starter.
