AC Milan are reportedly showing interest in Manchester City fantastic star player

Man City could sell ‘very exciting’ player for £17m, as UCL giants show interest.
AC Milan are reportedly showing interest in Manchester City full-back Sergio Gomez.

So far this term, Gomez has again struggled for minutes at the Etihad.

The Spaniard has made just four appearances across all competitions.

Two of these have been starts, but Gomez is firmly behind the likes of Josko Gvardiol, Nathan Ake, jack Grealish and Jeremy Doku for those left side positions.

But despite Gomez’s lack of involvement, he does appear to have interest from Milan…

AC Milan reportedly interested in Manchester City star Sergio Gomez
In news that was reported last week, Calciomercato have claimed that AC Milan are interested in the 23-year-old.

Apparently, City could be willing to listen to offers in the region of €18-20 million (£15-17 million).

City signed Gomez for a reported £11 million just over a year ago from Anderlecht.

For a lot of City fans the jury is rather still out on Gomez.

He excels playing further up the pitch, but doesn’t often get chances to play given the other quality options available to Pep Guardiola.

It remains to be seen if he will push for an exit in January.

Sergio Gomez in a similar boat to Kalvin Phillips
Gomez has it tough at City, just like Kalvin Phillips.

The 23-year-old doesn’t seem trusted by Guardiola, and only really makes appearances when games are already wrapped up.

He does get the odd start here and there.

But he will surely be considering his options ahead of the January transfer window.

He was branded ‘a very exciting young talent’ by Txiki Begiristain when he first signed for the club. But he is yet to live up to that hype.

Perhaps he’ll stick it out until the end of the season just to see what happens. But Gomez has definitely got plenty of work to do to make it work at City.
