Breaking News: Former Twins Star Confirm He Wants To Return To Twins

Ahead of Wednesday’s series finale against Colorado, the Minnesota Twins have activated reliever Jay Jackson back into the lineup.

Jackson was one of the Twins’ few offseason additions, but he had a poor debut, going 1-2 over 22.1 innings with a 6.85 ERA.

On May 19, he was assigned and sent to Triple-A St. Paul. He has only made three appearances for the Saints since then, giving up one run in three innings while striking out two.

Louie Varland, who began Tuesday’s game and tossed five scoreless innings, was optioned by Minnesota, and reliever Diego Castillo was designated for assignment to create room for him on the roster. After making five appearances for the Twins and giving up two runs in seven innings, Castillo was sent down earlier this week.

Before the Twins begin a four-game series against Oakland on Thursday, the Twins and Rockies are set to play the rubber game of their three-game series at noon on Wednesday.
